Fellowship and Support Groups

There are many opportunities for fellowship at Davis Community Church. Visitors and members are encouraged to visit or join the groups that interest you. For many people, it is the connections with other members of the community that makes DCC their home.

Fellowship Groups

Allcomers
Allcomers is an intergenerational fellowship group at DCC, most of whom have children or enjoy being around children. Regular activities have included potluck dinners, camping during the summer, a July 4th gathering, and Christmas caroling. The group is very flexible and you are welcome to come as often as you want or can. For more information, contact Rob or Gail Feenstra or the church office at 530-753-2894.

Allcomers’ Dinner Groups
The dinner groups bring together three or four families for monthly dinners at a time that is convenient to them. The dinners take place at the families homes, so it is a way to meet other DCC families in a small setting. The dinner groups are re-organized once or twice each year. For more information, contact Bob or Debbie Fung or the church office at 530-753-2894.

Boomers
A group of singles and couples in their 40s, 50s, and 60s. They generally meet the second Saturday of every month. The location varies, depending on the program. Past activities have included outdoor hikes, dinners at restaurants, evenings at the theater, and game nights. For more information, contact Virginia and James Harris or the church office at 530-753-2894.

College Ministry
CA House (Cal Aggie Christian Association) is DCC's main ministry to the university community and welcomes all undergraduate and graduate students to get involved. Fellowship Dinners take place every Wednesday when UCD is in session from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, followed by a fellowship-style worship from 7:00 to 8:00 PM. Other opportunities include: an Intentional Living Community, Bible studies, retreats, and interfaith events. For more information, please contact Associate Campus Minister Reverend Greg McGonigle at CA House at associate@cahouse.org or 530-753-2000.

Friendship Mariners
This group of seniors gather about four times each year for potlucks, speakers and a holiday party. The location changes depending on the programming. For more information, please contact Marj Collins or the church office at 530-753-2894.

On Our Own (Single Adults Group)
On Our Own (OOO) is an active, informal group of single adults (aged 18 years and older) who get together regularly for fellowship and social outings throughout the year. The group meets on the second Sunday of every month after the last church service (12:45 p.m. in fall/winter/spring; 11:45 a.m. in summer) at various Davis restaurants to chat and plan at least one monthly evening activity. Past outings have included: A jazz concert at the Crocker Art Museum, the Sacramento Art Deco Society's annual holiday celebration, featuring the vocal group Sister Swing, contra dances in Sacramento, game nights at members' homes, a movie and dessert night, a field trip to the De Young Art Museum in San Francisco, and attendance at the Sacramento Jazz Festival. New members are welcome. For information about upcoming events, contact the church office at 530-753-2894.

Presbyterian Women
Small group meetings (circles) gather at various times - morning, afternoon or evening. Some circles focus on a specific activity, such as quilting or books. General gatherings are held four times a year. For more information, see the DCC home page for the latest newsletter or contact Elizabeth Bradford, Mary Kay, or the church office at 530-753-2894.

Prime Timers
A new fellowship group has formed this year for those folks close to retirement or recently retired. The first gatherings will focus around meals and fellowship - gatherings of the whole group as well as in groups of nine. For more information, please contact Joy Dorf or the church office at 530-753-2894.

Scouting
DCC has a large, active Scout program. There are multiple units, including Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venture Crew. Please call if you would like to find out more about how you can participate. For more information, please contact Jerry Ito, or the church office at 530-753-2894.

Soup ’n’ Song
This is a time for a light lunch, fellowship, and a sentimental sing-a-long for our seniors, though all are welcome. The group meets the first Tuesday of each month at noon in the Fellowship Hall. Transportation can be arranged. Volunteers and food contributions are needed. For more information, contact Dair or David Rausch or the church office at 530-753-2894.

TAG (Totally Awesome Group)
This is a group for 20’s and 30’s that meet for fellowship, conversation, support, food, and fun! For more information, contact Reverend Bill Habicht or Reverend Tricia Hill at 530-753-2894.

Youth Ministries
For students in grades 7th through 12th, the youth ministry of DCC ministers, as much as possible, to all areas of youth life. It welcomes all youth and provides a safe environment for youth to be themselves, striving to respond to their needs and interests. It allows youth to engage in activities and dialogue which move them forward in their individual faith journeys, and seeks to incorporate youth into the intergenerational programs and ministries of the church. Weekly fellowship meetings in the Youth Rooms include games, music, group team-building activities and discussion of life and faith. For more information, contact the church office at 530-753-2894.
