"Uh, what's Christianity and what do I believe?" "Come and See!!!" Come & See is an in-depth class that is designed to answer the questions YOU bring to the table. It is always open to newcomers, especially those who have little or no experience with Christianity. You're welcome to drop in on a periodic basis or make an intentional commitment. Come & See is led by DCC members who journey with you as you explore the nature of God and Jesus personally and communally. Pastors Mary Lynn and Bill will be there as well! The class will alternate between in-depth Bible study (using a variety of methods) and the nature of Christianity. Come & See will meet:
"I KNOW all that. How do I join DCC???" The New Member Exploration Class focuses on this particular church - who are we and why do we do what we do. This class is particularly for those who have had significant church experience, would like to know more about Davis Community Church and explore the possibility of church membership here. Come to this class, get to know us - and let us get to know you. Membership is entirely optional, but is a way of strengthening your commitment to DCC and, hopefully, your discipleship within and outside the church. JoAnn Diel will facilitate the class and each of our pastors will lead a session, so that we can each connect with you. We also invite you to a Tuesday evening session ministry meeting where you can see our church leaders in action and start to understand the ways DCCers live out our faith in tangible ways. The New Member Exploration class will meet on ten consecutive Sunday mornings this fall. (It will be offered again in the Winter and in the Spring)
"May I participate in both?" "Sure!" "But if I need to choose, how do I know which one is for me?" "Come to a special "newcomers" gathering Sunday, September 9 at 9:45 in the Fireside Room and we'll tell you all about it. See you then!!!"
"I am in high school. Which class is right for me? " The "Seekers" is an invitation to youth 9th grade and older to journey spiritually as they explore the connection between their baptisms and their present and future lives as persons of mature faith. What does it mean to be a part of the family of God? Why is confirmation such a pivotal point in the Reformed tradition? For a personal evaluation of the meaning of confirmation for you, or if you or your youth are ready to open to its greater meaning, please contact the church office at 530-753-2894.
